Cochlospermum fraseri - Kapok Bush
This tall slender shrub from the north of Western Australia and the Northern Territory has showy yellow flowers followed by large, round, brown and yellow seed capsules.  These burst open to reveal numerous seeds embedded in white cotton-like hairs, hence the name Kapok Bush.

They are wonderful clowns of the bush.

The Dry
A crossing of the dry Todd River east of Alice Springs.  After rain, the water soaks into the sandy riverbed and feeds the roots of the trees.
